Edexcel offer the following five science gcse courses:
Science (core science): usually taken in year 10, although you may start some modules in year 9. Gives you one GCSE.
Additional science: Optional – for those taking science further. Gives you a second GCSE.
Biology, Chemistry and Physics. Separate (triple) sciences. These include the modules from Core and Additional plus extension modules. Gives you three separate GCSEs.
The Edexcel science website is a mess at the moment; use the drop-down menus to select the course you’re doing for more information.
Note that I only include information for the NEW science courses. If you are in year 11, you will probably still be following the OLD specifications, which are different. Call me if you are not clear.
